Meet Allison, LMFT

Child and Family Therapy Expert

I'm Allison.  I have been working in the mental health industry for the past 17 years. During those 17 years I have had the privilege and opportunity to work with amazing individuals and families, really digging in and helping them achieve their emotional and life goals.  I have worked extensively with clients around the topics of anxiety, depression, grief, adoption, bi-polar, personality disorders, behavioral issues, addiction, body image and eating disorders, relationships, communication, family conflict, self-harm, and suicide ideation.  There is really nothing better than helping someone find solutions that work for them.

I have discovered that there is not a one-size fits all type of therapy.  During my work with teens and young adults I've discovered the importance of finding the approach that works for them.  This has led me to be creative and experiential in my approach with my clients. As human beings we learn so much better when we DO something different rather than just talk about it.  I persistently try new things to find what works for each person.

I have worked for years in residential treatment settings helping teens and their families experiencing severe crisis and struggle.  I have often felt the pull to take those sophisticated therapeutic approaches to a more local demographic where I have the potential to reach more people and prevent the need for more intensive therapeutic intervention.

There is nothing so hard as watching someone you love struggle with self-doubt, addiction, or mental illness of any kind.  It can be confusing, overwhelming, and isolating. My goal is to help my clients understand they are not alone, there is hope and together we can find a way through.

I believe in the importance of family, connection and relationships.  I fight for my clients and their families and do all I can to help them find the peace they are looking for.
